Club News:

Greetings to all curlers!

It's that most wonderful time of the year! There will be league play on Wednesdays beginning Nov 5, (which is our first Wed night of curling). Please let me know if you'd like to be on a league team, and your first and second choice for position you wish to play.

Everyone is encouraged to join - it's a friendly competition and a great way to learn. I would appreciate hearing from you by Sunday, Nov 2.

The curling season will begin with our Open House on Sunday, November 2nd and our first night of curling will be a month from today - Wednesday November 5th!!

I will get back to you with the time for the open house, but it will likely be about 4:00 pm.  Please plan to come and help out, bring friends, family and co-workers to check out our sport!!  We will also have Learn to Curls on Wednesday 11/5, Sunday 11/9 and Sunday 12/7...

The Halloween Parade is Saturday October 25th - we will line up at about 5:30 and we are usually done around 7:00 or 7:30.  WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!!  If you will be able to join us, please let me know!!  We will, once again, have our "curling stone float" this year, but Piper John, who has played the bag pipes at our VERspiels will be marching and playing for us this year!  We are very excited to have him join us!  Whether or not you are able to join the parade, we are also looking for donations of bags of candy to give out to the kiddies...

Glenn Campbell has gotten fabric suitable for re-covering broom heads, and is willing to re-cover your broom head for a cost of $10!!  Please let me know if you are interested, and I will pass your request to Glenn...

The first night of league play is coming soon!  If you are interested in being part of the league, please let Linda Mercier know. More information will be posted soon.

Time to mark your calendars!!! The 2014-15 schedule has been released. Visit the CALENDAR page to see all the dates.

Vermont News:

The newly formed Addison club has been lucky enough to get an anonymous donor to fund the purchase all of the equipment (with the exception of stones) to get the club off the ground. Green Mount Curling Club is loaning them stones and sending some members to help teach. Linda and Nate are also assisting with the learn to curl.  It would be great to get additional help form Rutland.  One of the things we need to teach them is how to prepare the ice in addition to curling basics so those of you that have helped with ice prep are especially needed..  If anyone is interested in meeting more Vermont curlers and getting some more ice time please let Linda or Nate  know.  Curling will be at the Memorial Sports Center in Middlebury.
